Info

Hey there! I'm a hobbyist game developer from South Africa, and I started teaching myself coding and game development in early 2024.

This game was made for the SA GAME JAM 2024 - 72 hour project

Theme

~Midnight Starecase~

In Stranded, the theme of Midnight Staircase is embodied through the urgency and critical decision-making required throughout the gameplay. Players have a limited time to gather essential items from their crashing spaceship before they must escape in the escape pod. This frantic collection phase heightens the pressure of impending disaster, forcing players to weigh the risk of spending precious seconds to retrieve an item that could be crucial for their survival. The choice is yours: take the risk or leave it behind.

Once stranded on the alien planet, the importance of your decisions escalates. Players navigate a series of random daily events, where each choice matters. Certain items provide additional options, allowing for more strategic decisions. Will you take a gamble for the chance at greater supplies or play it safe? Each decision carries weight, significantly impacting your survival and overall experience in this unforgiving environment.
